About Me:

My name is Angela Edmunds. Welcome to my online portfolio page and resume.

I created my portfolio so that prospective employers could learn more about the skills I have learned while enrolled in the Film and Video Production program at the University of Regina.

Biography: Angela Edmunds is an award winning filmmaker, independent producer and the owner of Mae Star Productions, a film and video production company based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production with Distinction from the University of Regina in June 2006. Since the completion of her degree, Angela has produced and directed several short films including 5 documentary works that have all been broadcast on the Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN). As an emerging filmmaker, Angela had her first international screening in May 2007 with her film Are You Norma? in Ankara, Turkey. This short animation has been screened across Canada as well as internationally. It won Best Animation at the 2008 Female Eye Film Festival and Best Student/Amateur Film at the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Industry Association?s 2008 Showcase Awards. In the spring of 2008, Angela also completed her first feature length film, Hookers. a Documentary, as editor and associate producer for director Marcel Petit. She is currently working on her second feature documentary and several short films. Artist Statement: As an independent emerging artist living in Saskatchewan my work focuses on stories from my home province, its people, its places and the love I have for this beautiful prairie landscape. Many of my work focuses on such areas as the environment, history, education and women's issues. Although I have only been in the industry for a few years I have had much opportunity to grow and learn. And I have to say that I owe much of of what I know to my fellow colleagues, professors at the University of Regina and all those that I have met along the way. My time at the U of R helped me explore many aspects of why I want to be a filmmaker and what kinds of films I wanted to make for this world. Its all about passion, love and putting your voice out their in thought provoking ways.
