The Art Institute of Portland Portland, OR
About:This is a place where high design meets the great outdoors. Here, we like our coffee piping hot, our buildings environmentally friendly, our food and beverages first class, and our clothes one of a kind. We live in the best of both worlds - big city/small town - and we respect a myriad of lifestyles, cultures, opinions and interests.
This is Portland, Oregon. Love it. Live it. Learn from it.
The Art Institute of Portland is located in the arts and culture neighborhood known as the Pearl District. Situated in the northwest part of downtown, the Pearl is home to a growing number of highly acclaimed restaurants, coffee shops, renovated lofts, retails stores and galleries. Here, students and faculty of The Art Institute of Portland have a wealth of resources just steps away from the school.
With more than 80,000 square feet of space at 1122 NW Davis Street, The Art Institute of Portland is more than just a note-taking, test-taking institution. Twelve computer labs are abuzz all day long with students working on Macs and PCs, using various software applications such as Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CAD, 3-D Studio Max, ProTools and Avid DV Express for class projects. The Art Institute of Portland Gallery, located on the first floor of the building, is home to many exhibits each year and evening receptions during the first Thursday of each month. Students, faculty and staff as well as friends and family members, can find a good selection of school, art and media supplies, college logo items and other apparel at the third floor Supply Store. Students check out industry-related media gear from our Equipment Cage and have quality prints of their projects made in our Print Service Center. They can access high-end art and design books, DVDs, CDs and magazines in our library.
In our classrooms, students and faculty share ideas and work together to develop design solutions. In our hallways, friendships and career contacts are made. At our events, new designs emerg
